MID-WIFE SAVES PREGNANT WOMAN ON A BUS IN GHANA

Sofia Safia Sulemana, a mid-wife from Copa health centre in Walewale in the Northern Region of Ghana helped   delivered a pregnant woman of her baby on a bus.

SOFIA'S JOURNEY

Sofia embarks on a journey back to Walewale after celebrating her two weeks holiday in Accra. She boarded an OA bus.
The journey is not easy for her as the bus stops all of sudden in the middle of nowhere.

THE CONTRATION

A pregnant woman suddenly has contration in the same bus that Sofia is in.
A man sitting beside her, who knows that Sofia is a mid-wife reaches for her assistance.
Sofia rushes to help the pregnant woman in labour.

BRAVE SOFIA

Without wasting time, Sofia takes a cloth and spread on the floor and lays the pregnant woman on it. She uses polythene rubber since there isn't any appropriate tools at the moment and because it's an emergency. Sofia never fears if something can go wrong with the delivery. She uses a blade she took from a passenger to separate the baby from the mother. She then uses a thread from sac and tied the umbilical cord of the baby.

BABY AND MOTHER SAFE

After a successful delivery, Sofia helps take mother and baby to a hospital when the bus reaches Tamale. She calls them from time to time to check on them and it's a good news that the baby and mother are both fine and in good health

MORALS

Never let fear take control over your being. Believe in your capabilities and always give it a try ..
Also be a risk taker and always believe that you can do it and you will do it just like Sofia.
